Under teacher supervision, rinse the burette with standard base, fill it, and remove any air from its tip.
Use a pipette filler to measure a known volume of dilute acid into the flask. Add a few drops of indicator.
Read the initial burette level at eye height. Add base while gently swirling the flask.
As the endpoint approaches, add single drops. Stop when a faint pink colour lasts for about 30 seconds.
Subtract the initial reading from the final reading to find the titre. Repeat for closely agreeing titres, then use their mean to calculate the acid concentration.
Precautions
Use dilute solutions under teacher supervision and wear eye protection. Fill pipettes with a filler, never your mouth.
View the meniscus at eye level. Aim for a faint lasting pink; deep pink means excess base.
