Aim

Use a voltage–current graph to work out a conductor’s resistance.

  1. Connect voltage, current, and resistance using Ohm’s law.
  2. Read resistance from the slope of a V–I graph.
  3. Explain how a temperature change can affect the pattern.

Apparatus

  1. Low-voltage DC supply to power the circuit
  2. Resistor to test and rheostat to adjust current
  3. Ammeter, voltmeter, switch, and connecting leads
